ENGLISH DESCRIPTION El cielo de los leones brings together a series of texts in search of a bond, that unusual correspondence between desire and seduction, between wealth and chance, between adventures and fortune. A strange correspondence exists between desire and seduction, between wealth and chance, between the sea and volcanoes, between courage and excess, between adventures and adventure itself. Each of the texts in this volume seeks such a bond and finds it in childhood memories, visions of the world, and characters that inhabit memory. El cielo de los leones tells the world in order to bless it. Evocation and dreams are the precise and continuous ritual that runs through these pages, whose purpose is to persuade us of how prodigious and overwhelming life is, and of the countless daily reasons it offers for us to revere it. Ángeles Mastretta believes in the sensible habit of madness, in the daily challenge of watching others live as if in a delirium: there is a heaven for everyone, she says, even for lions there must be a heaven. That is why seduction captivates us. What is blessed seduction, if not the dream that such a thing as heaven exists?
