The Dermatology Foundation recognized him with their Lifetime Career Educator Award in 2004. Extensively published, Dr. Haynes also influenced the training of dermatology residents through his bedside teaching and many contributions to national educational committees and his significant number of teaching materials. Dr. Haynes was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2013
