A new series of historical crime novels that is modern, inventive and destined for all audiences!
Louis Porier has a gift: when gripped by an emotion, he is able to travel to the past. For a young professor of history and geography, it's true bliss. Especially when he must explain to his students how Tutankhamen died. Thus, while on a class visit to the Louvre one day, he is fascinated by the famous statue of a sitting scribe and is suddenly whisked back to Egypt in 1400 BC where he finds himself a scribe in the service of the Pharaoh. His name is Hapy and his mission, given by his master, is to investigate the abrupt death of the grand priest of the Amon Temple. Hapy learns of life in court and in the city of Thebes and finds himself in the center of a dangerous intrigue. His perilous investigation will uncover several sinister plots that threaten the Pharaoh's life as well as the livelihood of all of Egypt. Suspects hide at the highest levels of government: fanatic priests of the ancient cult of Aton, ministers, and even the queen.
In spite of all his efforts Hapy is unable to save his young master from death. He did not change the course of History. But, when he returns to the present as Louis Poirier, he has first hand information to give to his students.
