ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
"There are people who, when choosing their duty, also choose their destiny."
After the success of Stolen Phrases, José Luis Sastre returns with a moving story about those who assume their duty at the cost of paying for it with their lives.
Aware that he risks his own life, a police officer takes on the task of escorting a councilwoman who has received death threats. The terrorist net closes in on her while he, certain that they will be killed, refuses to abandon the mission, clinging to his sense of duty, convinced that it makes sense to take the risk in exchange for someone else being able to defend their freedom.
How much is a life worth? How far are we willing to go to defend an ideal?
After the success of Stolen Phrases, José Luis Sastre once again displays his exciting and direct style with a novel that narrates the courage of those who, during the worst years of the dictatorship, and from anonymity, confronted silence and injustice at the price of being kidnapped or murdered.
This is the story of those who, as Sastre writes, by choosing their duty also chose their destiny.
