In the 15th century, Pedro, a young orphan, lives in Cordoba under the care of monks. When he learns that the Señor de Marchena is looking for men to colonize lands near the border of the Kingdom of Granada, he decides to venture into the unknown. From that moment on, his life becomes a whirlwind of misadventures. At the tender age of fourteen, he finds himself in Aznalmara, right on the border, where the settlers on both sides face constant shocks. Struggling to survive, devoid of knowledge and without a family to protect him, Pedro feels like a ship adrift, without a clear course, not knowing what winds will blow and where they will take him. The Last Frontier reflects upon the greatness and miseries of the settlers of Andalusia who defended the Spanish Christian kingdoms. Juan Luis Pulido takes us on a fascinating journey where destinies intertwine with history and survival becomes heroic. After his previous successes, Pulido returns with Last Frontier, captivating the reader with his masterful prose and transporting us to a world full of mystery and bravery.
