Liz Craft!

American artist Liz Craft creates sculptures and figurative installations that appear like fragments in space. They tell dreamlike stories and conjure an atmosphere associated with surrealism, fairy tales, or drug-induced hallucinations. For her art, Craft mainly draws on ideas from American counterculture of the 1960s, psychedelic experiences, and pop culture. She borrows images from B movies, Westerns, and horror films, as well as comic strips and theme park aesthetics. This first comprehensive monograph on Liz Craft in more than 15 years offers a deep insight into her artistic evolution over two decades. Numerous illustrations document recent works in various contexts. Two supplementing essays and a conversation with the artist explore and reflect on the diverse themes and techniques she applies.
