Snakes, giant machines controlled by neural implants, and a galactic empire. What do they have in common? Rasso hates them all. Before becoming a knight in the Chevalier Sanctorum, Rasso was a lowly dredge worker. He spends his days emptying the vast caverns of his homeworld to make room for its growing population. Yet, despite the long days and back-breaking labor, he's surrounded by loving friends and family. That alone makes the dirty, dangerous work bearable. But Rasso doesn't understand quite how dangerous until one fateful day. And the peril doesn't just lie in his trade or the beasts lurking in the deep cavern waters. Rasso never saw himself joining the military ranks of a Federation he considered interlopers disturbing his planet's peace. Discover the events that give him no other choice.
