The Story of a Great Swimmer (to Be)

A heartwarming and funny story about swimming, persevering, and not losing heart. For little champions ages 5 years and up. The boy loves being in the water. He thinks he’s a great swimmer . . . that is, until he joins the swim team. That’s when he discovers that other children swim better and faster than he does. He’ll need to practice a lot to become really good. Will he give up, or will he keep on trying?

Shuyi Chiou (1977) grew up in Taiwan and studied animation at the School of Visual Arts in New York. She loves picture books for the wonder of immersing herself in the magical worlds that illustrations create and hopes her books will bring the same joy to her readers. In her work, she finds great inspiration in the everyday life with her children. When not working, she enjoys sketching, jogging, and listening to podcasts about dinosaurs and other creatures from millions of years ago. Shuyi lives with her husband and two rambunctious kids in Rhode Island, USA.
