Alina April Smith, born and raised in Finland, combines Finnish and American roots in her background. After spending time in Germany, she now lives and studies in Finland. Her poetry serves as a testing ground for multilingualism, where she intuitively explores themes of home, melancholy, nostalgia, and pain. What sets her poems apart is how she navigates emotion.
